Knuckles the Echidna is the guardian of the Master Emerald as well as protector of Angel Island. Not only is it his home but it’s also home to various other mobians. Some good and some bad. He’ll have his hands full protecting the former from the latter. Everyone wants something and Knuckles would prefer some peace and quiet. My apologies to the team, but what poor dialogue. Nobody wants to carry emotional issues over to resolve later; everything needs to be resolved and forgiven immediately. Nobody can die or live without having their unresolved grievances addressed. The characters take deep pride in defending their values, but in the face of a crisis, everyone is humble enough to forgive everything. I’ve had this stuck in my throat ever since Sonic lied to Sally at the council and stole the emeralds and almost ruined everything by being robotized—all forgiven. The feeling is that the writers wouldn’t know how to resolve a long-term emotional problem.
